Schools participating in CIS Accreditation are visited by a team of qualified and trained volunteer school leaders and educators from CIS Member Schools at distinct points in the accreditation cycle.
Led by the Team Chair, the Evaluation Team spends one week at the school observing learning situations and talking with students, parents, faculty/staff and members of the school’s Board/Governing Body. The Team’s observations are summarised into a report that is submitted to CIS, along with the Team’s recommendation on the accreditation decision.
More than 3000 educators worldwide serve on CIS Evaluation Teams. In order to participate on a Team, an individual must be employed at a CIS Member School that is CIS Accredited or a committed Accreditation Candidate. The individual must also first participate in an Evaluation Training Workshop. Visitors are then invited to participate on teams as opportunities arise, depending on the location of the schools and expertise required for the particular visits.
For more information about participating on a Evaluation Teams, staff from CIS Member Schools should visit the Evaluation Workshop section of this website or log in to learn more.
