How do you Pick a Star Fruit? The Challenges of Operating Fair Admissions in an Internationalised University
Presenter: Paul Teulon, Director of Admissions
Institution: King’s College London
Twenty years ago operating admissions was like picking the juiciest apple from the fruit bowl. Applicants largely had similar qualifications, experiences and backgrounds. For internationalised universities in the modern era, selecting the best student is like choosing the best piece of fruit from the most luxurious fruit bowl imaginable. Students have a raft of different qualifications, different experiences and backgrounds and almost no two things are the same. Treating each application equally when nothing else is at the heart of fair admissions in an international university and this session will consider the issues and implications in this area.
