Tamara De La Loza
In her role as a School Services Advisor within the School Support & Evaluation team, Tamara supports schools involved in the CIS membership application and accreditation processes. She works closely with accreditation volunteers and CIS Regional Accreditation Officers to build accreditation teams and help them prepare for their visits to schools. Tamara is also involved in various communications projects at CIS, including development of new online tools to manage the accreditation process and an internal news bulletin. She has also been involved in supporting the initiatives of the International Task Force on Child Protection.
Originally from Southern California, Tamara attended the University of Rochester, in New York (USA), where she earned a BA in Political Science. After moving to Amsterdam in 2010, she attended the Vrije University in Amsterdam and obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science in 2011.
Tamara was involved in a number of activities during her studies at the University of Rochester, as well as while studying abroad at Webster University, Leiden, including founding and serving as President of the Human Rights Club, serving as the multi-cultural and diversity chair of Phi Sigma Sigma National Sorority, and was a member of both the varsity swim team and the University’s Debate Team. She also served as the Social Media Manager for Magical Moments Around the World, an organization that works to unite people all over the world by sharing their magical moments in a global online book. She also interned for the New York State Division of Human Rights.
Tamara holds dual Dutch and American citizenship, and grew up in a multi-cultural family of Dutch and Mexican/American heritage.
