Schools Membership
Schools are eligible to apply for membership, provided that they meet the three Membership Criteria and the twenty Membership Standards. The Council encourages applicant schools to look at these Criteria and Standards carefully before applying, in the knowledge that they will be monitored by the membership Visitor when evaluating the school. An applicant school is asked to supply comprehensive basic data, including a description of the school, its programme, facilities, character and organisational structure, and finances. School applications are considered by the Executive Director. Before Regular Membership is granted, a membership visit will be undertaken by a representative of the Executive Director at the school's expense.
Benefits of Membership vary with membership category but we offer a comprehensive range of services for schools which is constantly being developed and updated, with many services available online via this web site.

The International Schools Directory is a great benefit of membership increasing a school's exposure on the internet which has fast become THE place for parents to find information on schools. For teachers considering new opportunities, the Directory opens the door to the international education community about which little information is available elsewhere. |
Other Services use the navigation to the left or click this title for a full listing of member benefits. Regular member schools are entitled to use the CIS logo on promotional material, web sites and stationery – download an up-to-date logo here. Provisional and Prospective member schools may do so only if they indicate very clearly that Regular membership is pending. |
