Beca Cometa

Beca Cometa is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit and a national talent identification and support program in Peru. Its mission is to find and empower Peru’s future leaders by providing them with high-quality resources and clear pathways to access the best higher education institutions in the world. Each year, Cometa selects and supports up to 60 high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds, offering funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance throughout the college application process.

In addition to the scholarship program, Cometa organizes and sponsors Comet Fest—the largest education and career festival in Peru, and the fest where youth decide their future. This annual event provides students and families with free access to inspirational talks, hands-on workshops, college and career fairs, networking opportunities, and expert counseling to help them plan their academic and professional paths. The June 2025 edition of Comet Fest welcomed over 18,000 in-person attendees and 10,000 virtual participants.
