What do children of all ages need to be successful in an exciting, changing, advancing, technological information age?
Do you have a clear vision?
Are you passionate about the pursuit of academic excellence?
Are you an effective communicator and collaborator in a multi-cultural community?
The International School of Turin seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to open the doors of tomorrow’s world – have you got what it takes?
Founded in 1963 as the American International School of Turin, the School was re-founded in 1974 as the American Cultural Association of Turin and is now known formally as the International School of Turin, the only full IB school in Piedmont, accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It is a not for profit association in which parents of students are members. IST is governed by a ten-member Board of Directors, elected by associate members. The school is managed by the Head of School in collaboration with the financial and operations managers.
IST is an independent, co-educational, college-preparatory day school which offers an integrated English language and Italian programme from Nursery to Grade 12, for students from the local and international community of Turin. Enrolment is currently around 450. 53% of students are host country nationals with the remaining 47% from 42 other nationalities. Admission is open to students of three years and older, with priority given to international students whose native language or language of fluency is English. Students leaving IST enter recognised institutions of higher education throughout the world.
Instruction is in English. Italian, French, German and Spanish are taught as foreign languages. Special needs teachers provide instruction in art, music, PE, computing skills and English as an additional language.
IST is housed in new, purposely-designed, spacious campus, which blends traditional, restored buildings with modern, up-to-date facilities. Located in the heart of the Piedmont, in the green countryside of Chieri and 15 km from the centre of Turin, the new campus includes spacious classrooms, fully equipped Science laboratories, dedicated rooms for Music, Art, Drama and ICT, a large assembly hall, a rich library and research centre, an indoor gymnasium and outdoor sports pitches and an outstanding purpose-built canteen.
IST’s adoption of innovative learning into the classroom continues through its “1:1” iPad program in grades 5-8, MacBooks in grades 8-12 and is currently rolling out 1-to-many iPads in the Nursery through Grade 3 and will be introducing iPads in Grade 4.
IST has modern, eco-friendly facilities and is justifiably proud of having been awarded their green flag from the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) – as an official Eco School, following a successful campaign involving the whole school community.
