Data protection and cybersecurity: CIS and 9ine team up to help schools improve

Data protection and cybersecurity are increasingly important for international schools due to new legal obligations such as GDPR, yet leaders struggle to understand what actions are required and how to comply. We are excited to announce a new partnership with 9ine who will work with us to address these challenges and strengthen the professional expertise, advice and guidance we provide to our membership community as they develop systems and policies in these critical areas of responsibility.

Enhanced standards related to data protection and child protection are included in our newly revised International Accreditation Protocol and will be released later this year. We are working closely with 9ine to develop resources that support schools in aligning to these standards including a self-study assessment tool. Additional training, tools and resources will support our staff and volunteer accreditation evaluators in understanding how to effectively assess and recommend improvements in areas within a school related to data protection and cybersecurity.

We are pleased to further recommend 9ine as our newest CIS Affiliated Consultants to support schools that need further help to develop data protection practices.
