Announcement: CIS events and school visits impacted by Coronavirus
Announcement: CIS events and school visits impacted by Coronavirus

We are closely following news and announcements via governments in impacted areas and leading authorities: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are also receiving latest guidance from our travel insurance company.

Due to increasing concerns around the outbreak and spread of the Coronavirus, we are cancelling some CIS events and school visits in the Asia Pacific region. We will keep our members updated with information as we do our best to reschedule these events once conditions improve.

Many schools in China and some surrounding countries are closing for the coming weeks, and travel restrictions or quarantines are in place which impact CIS staff and volunteers. Any school visits for membership and accreditation in China and Hong Kong (and potentially in other impacted countries) will be postponed to an appropriate time in the future.

We are contacting impacted schools, volunteer evaluators, event participants and speakers with information and guidance.

We are also contacting volunteer evaluators based in Hong Kong and China, knowing that the present circumstances are likely to affect their ability to participate in school visits in other regions. This may also impact the feasibility of these visits, most of which are in the Asia region and some in the Middle East. We will contact individual evaluators and schools likely to be impacted.

We will keep our community updated with progress as appropriate. Thank you for your patience and cooperation at this time.
