Miguel Costa is currently Head of Global Admissions & Enrollment for Undergraduate programs at IE University and a full-time professor of Marketing at IE Business School in Madrid. After 10 years in graduate admissions, Miguel has played an active role in the foundation and further development of all undergraduate programs at IE University (Spain).

In 2017, Miguel was appointed to the Board of Trustees at the Council of International Schools (CIS), a membership community working collaboratively to shape international education. He is one of the first higher education members to join international school leaders on the CIS Board as part of a strategic initiative by the association to strengthen collaboration between International Schools and Higher Education Institutions.

Miguel’s career has been forged primarily in international higher education, participating actively in IE Business School's recent achievements. He has been Director of the International MBA, Executive Director of Admissions, and Director of Marketing. He has been especially committed to promoting international higher education for over 20 years leading recruitment and admissions at the Bachelor's and Master's levels.

Miguel holds an International MBA from IE Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Sciences from Universidad de Valencia. In addition, he has rounded off his education in Global Business and Marketing at Harvard Business School (Boston), The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), and Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University (Chicago). He participates in Master's and Executive Education programs as a professor and regularly contributes to several business media agencies. He is also a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, the American Marketing Association, founding member of The European Universities Consortium (EUC), and a board member of other associations.

I am humbled and incredibly excited to serve as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Council of International Schools (CIS). I look forward to working with our Executive Director, Jane Larsson, and the CIS Leadership Team to inspire our vibrant community of members: 740 schools and 620 colleges and universities across 123 countries. There are exciting times ahead as we navigate significant change, but we also see incredible opportunities to collaborate across sectors to address them. We all know that business is about creating value and solving problems, but education is about leaving a legacy to future generations. This is our greatest responsibility. My thanks go to a talented group of fellow CIS Trustees for their commitment, engagement and generosity as we uphold the CIS Board’s legacy of visionary leadership. There are many exciting opportunities ahead, and CIS is up to the challenge.

Miguel Costa is the first-ever Higher Education member to chair the Council of International School’s Board of Trustees.
