Join us for two essential CIS child protection workshops, organized back-to-back for your convenience. In both of these professional learning experiences, you'll access training and resources tailored to international school communities. 

The Deep Dive workshop expands upon the Foundation workshop's sessions, offering a comprehensive and detailed exploration of critical child protection and safeguarding issues. You may register for either one or both workshops together, which are structured to foster learning and development across your school's entire community.

Develop your understanding of the key risks and realities relating to child protection and safeguarding within international school communities. Learn from experts with extensive experience and connect on well-established workshop content plus newly developed and timely material.
 
You will learn to:

  • recognize and respond to affluent neglect within your community
  • understand the signs of online grooming and sexual abuse
  • address forms of harm effectively by engaging the student voice
  • build skills in your community around online consent, cyber-bullying, and online sexual harassment
  • safeguard young people whose voices have traditionally been marginalized due to their race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ability, or other identity markers

Child Protection Deep Dive: Managing Allegations Against an Adult

16–17 January 2025

After the Foundation workshop, join us for an in-depth training to focus on managing allegations of child abuse against an adult in an international school context. Our exceptional speakers will guide you with their deep knowledge and direct experience to develop practical skills and strategies for effectively identifying and deterring abuse. You'll participate in an unfolding case study facilitated by experts in managing allegations of child abuse and concerns about adults in the international school context.
 
You will learn:

  • how sex offenders operate and develop skills and strategies for deterring and preventing abuse
  • strategies and processes for appropriately responding to allegations of child abuse by educators and other adults, including carrying out an inquiry
  • how to identify and respond to low-level concerns
  • considerations for communicating in a crisis and about a historical allegation.
