TAICEP is an international professional association that has the single purpose of supporting and serving the profession of international credential evaluation. Their work directly complements that of CIS as an international body responsible for the evaluation and accreditation of schools, now across 116 countries.

Working together we will strengthen the knowledge of these two distinct professions as a priority for our organizations. We each understand that students and teachers are prepared differently across educational systems around the world. We believe it is important that schools and universities in every country understand how to recognize and evaluate the educational experiences of students as they transition to new schools and onto higher education throughout their educational journey, as well as the preparation and experiences of teachers and leaders as they seek out opportunities in new regions and countries.

Jane Larsson, Executive Director of CIS, highlighted the importance of the new partnership between CIS and TAICEP. “Once we were introduced to each other, we quickly realized the impact we could make by working collaboratively, bridging our respective areas of expertise, to better educate, develop and serve international credential evaluation professionals around the world by providing research, training and resources to professionalize practices in determining educational equivalencies across countries. And, to do exactly the same for educational leaders, teachers and faculty at schools and universities as we examine how they are prepared to lead or teach.

“The complexity of our respective work is significant. We each find our work is often misunderstood, particularly as we face the challenges that come with educational mobility in a converging world. Together, we will strengthen advocacy for our respective professions by raising public awareness of the work of credential evaluators and institutional accreditors, explaining our crucial roles in areas such as education, licensure, and employment across countries.”
