Each year during the CIS Global Forum, CIS recognises members for exemplary service in the international admission and guidance community. 

The CIS Future Leader Award honours an up and coming international admissions officer or school counsellor who demonstrates strong leadership potential and embodies the CIS mission.

The CIS Future Leader Award to honours an up and coming international admissions officer or school counsellor who embodies the CIS mission, vision, and values. The award recipient demonstrates strong leadership potential among his/her peers and an unequivocal commitment to service within the international admissions and guidance communities. The recipient truly represents the future of international education which CIS strives to shape.

CIS Peggy Templeton Strong Award

The CIS Peggy Templeton Strong Award honours a member of the CIS guidance community who makes significant contributions to international school guidance. The award is named in honor of Peggy Templeton Strong, who, in a long and distinguished career, has promoted the needs of her students, mentored countless guidance counsellors, university advisors and international admissions representatives, and was instrumental in establishing guidance and admissions organisations. Peggy’s vision, commitment, and exemplary standards serve as an inspiration to us all. With this award we honour a member of the CIS guidance community whose work continues Peggy Templeton Strong’s legacy.

CIS T. Michael Maybury Award

The CIS T. Michael Maybury Award honours a member of the CIS university admissions community who has made significant contributions to the field of university admission and recruitment. The award is named after Dr. T. Michael Maybury for his lifetime achievements, his significant contributions to international schools and for his promotion of international post-secondary education and global understanding. Mike Maybury was Executive Secretary of the European Council of International Schools (1989 to 2003) and Executive Director of the Council of International Schools (2003 to 2004), and devoted a lifetime of service to the promotion of international education and global understanding. During his years at the helm of CIS, Mike served us as a dedicated leader whose strong commitment to and tireless work on behalf of higher education was instrumental in fostering an environment in which the traditions we now carry forward could flourish.
