Independent University Counselling
Dr Stone has more than 20 years experience as an independent educational consultant and is Executive Director of Campanile College Counselling. She has a national reputation as a leader in college admissions and college application essays and is author of the book, The Better College Essay: Fitting in and Standing Out (Wintergreen Orchard House). As a college professor for many years, she approaches the college admission process with a keen awareness of how universities function and understands the expectations for student success. Dr Stone teaches in the University of California, Berkeley (Extension) Certificate Program in College Admissions and Career Counselling. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr Stone earned her undergraduate degree and PhD at University of California Berkeley and spent two years as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. Her Master's Degree is from New York University.
Dr Stone is experienced working with students with learning differences. She has additional expertise working with students in the performing and visual arts (including music, theatre, dance, architecture, fine arts, industrial design, and related fields).
Campanile College Tours, a licensed travel program of Campanile College Counseling, creates custom college tours for individual families tailored to the unique interests of each student. Dr Stone is a Certified Travel Counselor through The Travel Institute qualifying her to plan college tours for students from all over the world.
