Jean Louis, the founder and president of Louis Educational Consulting, has more than 20 years of experience working in education.
As a former enrollment management officer in higher education, Jean is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice (BA, MPA), NY, Baruch College (MSEd), NY and a current graduate student in business administration at Hochschule Lucerne School of Business Administration, Switzerland.
As a certified educational planner and an independent educational consultant, Jean has helped hundreds of families and especially students globally. His support to students focuses on the philosophy that college admission planning is a family exercise while the final decision sits with the student.
This philosophy helps families make financial sense decisions while the students gain access to their best fit institution. One that supports their learning and social skills, as well their academic endeavors and beyond.
When not supporting students with their college planning, Jean coaches soccer to local kids in after school programs. This helps him to not only be involved in his community but also be better prepared to assist student athletes looking for sport scholarships or other opportunities outside their countries. Furthermore, Jean is very active in his professional membership groups such as the independent educational consultants’ association (IECA). He is the host of “Global College Conversations In-Focus”, a webinar series featuring higher education admissions officers, in which he leads professional development content for his peers. As a commissioner for the American institute of educational planners (AICEP) he collaborates with colleagues and supports the association’s social media presence.
Jean’s other professional memberships include IACAC, HECA, NACAC and some local chapters.
