WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CIS MEMBER SCHOOL?

The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a global non-profit membership organization committed to high-quality education. Our community includes more than 1,525 schools and universities representing 120 countries.

All CIS member schools are committed to incorporating international and intercultural perspective into their programmes so that students can move forward with the attitudes, knowledge and understanding that will provide them with a solid base wherever their studies or work may take them. To become members of CIS, our team visits the school (in person or virtually) to ensure the school meets the membership criteria and standards. All member schools also agree to support and uphold the CIS Code of Ethics.

Families with children attending CIS member schools know the school meets the CIS membership criteria and is committed to meeting the needs of its students and helping them to achieve their potential. We offer a unique opportunity to facilitate links between guidance/university counsellors and international university admissions professionals who help support students in the transition from school to university. We work together with our university members to support the best possible outcome for students interested in international higher education opportunities.
