CIS is delighted to announce that Ms. Laure Berr has been appointed Head of Primary after an extensive search process. CIS, Head of School Mireille Rabaté and The Board of Governors at Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill are delighted to announce that Ms. Laure Berr has been selected as their new Head of Primary.
The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill opened its doors to 430 students in September 2015 and today provides a rigorous bilingual programme to over 900 students comprising 40 nationalities. The Lycée was officially named as Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill on Saturday 24 January 2015 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the former British Prime Minister’s death, as an hommage to the French-British friendship over the years.
The School is an independent international school set up by the French Education Charitable Trust (FECT). It joins, as an “Ecole Partenaire”, the growing worldwide network of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a government agency overseen by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. The AEFE’s network today numbers 494 educational establishments in 135 countries. Lycée International de Londres has recently been awarded IB Candidate School status.
Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill, selected CIS Leadership Searches, represented by Joe Cornacchio, and supported by the CIS Leadership Search Team, to lead the search for a new Head of Primary, in a process involving faculty, parents, and members of the Board of Governors. CIS received eighteen initial applications. In consultation with the Director, a process of careful evaluation ensued, matching the skills, experiences and philosophies of the candidates against the needs of the school. Contending candidates were personally video-interviewed by CIS and reviewed by its global team, to ensure that each of the shortlisted candidates CIS put forward was a potential match
Joe Cornacchio commented: 'This search presented an opportunity to match a unique set of skills in a UK, IB setting, with the French national curriculum at the core of a bilingual international programme.'
Head of School Mireille Rabaté commented: "Thank you for your help and for rallying such a strong pool of candidates! This decision will contribute to confirm the feeling of serenity and confidence that prevails in the Primary section.'
Prior to her appointment, Laure has served as the Interim Head of Primary this academic year. She joined Lycée International de Londres in 2015 as a founding faculty member, assuming the leadership role of Curriculum Coordinator. Laure spent several years as a Teacher and Technology Coordinator in France, The Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States.
