CIS is delighted to announce a new partnership with George Mason University (GMU), Virginia, USA, a world class research institution which has been delivering quality master’s degree coursework and licensure programs to international educators for Twenty-five years.
This partnership was sealed by Dr. Beverly Shaklee, Professor & Director Advanced Professional Teacher Development & International Education of GMU and Pauline O’Brien, Director of CIS Career & Recruitment Services.
The Teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and Exceptional Children (TCLDEL) program at GMU houses three strands specifically targeting teachers who are currently employed in international schools or have the intent to teach in international schools. This includes International Elementary, International ESOL, and Advanced Studies in IB (IB authorized program). All programs are fully accredited by CAEP the U.S. national accrediting body for teacher education programs as well as being an authorised graduate institution for the International Baccalaureate.
The aim of this partnership is to support and guide graduates of GMU as they pursue careers in international education, connecting them with CIS member schools and thereby enriching the community with fresh perspectives and enthusiasm. We consider this partnership as central to putting into action the CIS mission of “shaping the future of international education” that will benefit our member schools.
