Professional Development Sessions

The CIS Forum will host 45+ professional development sessions which will cover three themes:

  1. Getting students to where they need to be – Sessions in this theme will focus on the knowledge required to help students get to university. These include regional updates on undergraduate admission, curriculum discussions, testing updates, and more.
  2. Doing your job better – These sessions are focused on the development of professional skills and strategies that will help participants achieve career goals, and improve work efficiency. These include social media, marketing, strategies for good communication with students and parents, and more.
  3. Working together – These sessions are focused on dialogue and interaction for the purposes of networking and learning from one another. These include seeking the common good in admission and counselling, behind the scenes from both sides of the admissions process, express networking, and more.

This one and a half hour fair on day one will give university representatives the opportunity to display their institution. Guidance counsellors can visit the different tables and interact with and learn from university reps from CIS Higher Education members across the globe. High quality Universities from the US, Europe (including the UK), Asia, and other parts of the world will participate in this fair.

On day two, school counsellors from over 250 International Schools will host a table and present their schools to the university admission and recruitment audience. During the School Fair, university admission representatives will use their time to interact with a variety of schools to network with guidance counsellors, learn about the school curricula and share their admission process in more detail.
