Helena Sobulis has worked as an educator in Australia, the United States and Singapore with her most recent position being Principal of an international school in Singapore. She has played key advisory roles at State and National level as Executive Assistant to the Director General of Education of South Australia and Senior Education Adviser to the Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Federal Minister for Education in Australia.
Helena has been a member of the Board of Governors of the International Schools Association, the world’s first association of international schools, Chair of the Australasian Council for International Education (South Australian Chapter) and Secretary of the South Australian Branch Committee of the Australian College of Educators.
She has participated in CIS Team Visits to schools in South East Asia and Australia and, on behalf of CIS, organised Accreditation Training workshops and regional conferences in Australia. Helena holds a Master of Education degree in International Education from Monash University, Australia. As a first generation Australian of Polish and Latvian descent, Helena has a particular interest in people with cross-cultural childhoods and is currently undertaking her PhD studies on the topic of Third Culture Kids.
