CIS is committed to Child Protection and Student Well-Being
We work to ensure our higher education communities are aware of the challenges facing students as they continue their education at university and college. Together with a team of global experts, we provide child protection training, resources, and support to our university and school leaders, so they can learn what they need to know to educate their communities and develop capacity to support students.
Child abuse is not new, but it is often hidden. At CIS, we purposefully foster open discussion with our members and have invested to increase the knowledge of our staff to consider the role we all have in keeping students safe.
Workshops for educators
Over the last two years, we have brought together a team of experts, world renowned in all aspects of child protection and student well-being, to deliver a workshop programme to support educators learning about critical steps in protecting students. Our workshops cover the foundation of child protection, followed by more focused workshops to go deeper into topics such as setting school policies, managing school disclosures, recruiting practices and more.

Katie Rigg, CIS International Advisor for Student Well-being is managing all aspects of the workshops. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Review the ICMEC Education Portal
International Task Force on Child Protection and the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) have joined forces to provide resources on how to prevent and respond to child abuse, neglect and sexual exploitation wherever you are in the world. The ICMEC Education Portal provides educators with resources and guidance on all child protection topics including writing and evaluating policies, developing safer recruitment practices, and educating staff, parents, and students on prevention and response to abuse when it does occur.
